Laurna Surdy, M.A., CCC-SLP, joins Trust The Journey Academy with nearly eight years of diverse experience in speech-language pathology, including over three years of departmental leadership. She has served students across special needs charter schools, private practice, and home-based services, bringing a wealth of expertise to her role. With specialized training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and extensive experience supporting students with complex communication needs, Laurna is passionate about empowering every child to find their voice.
Holding a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, Laurna is committed to supporting the whole child—addressing not only speech and language development, but also social, emotional, and academic growth. She has successfully led teletherapy programs embedded in school operations, conducted autism evaluations, and guided countless students in building communication confidence that extends far beyond the classroom.
A strong advocate for equity in education, Laurna believes that every child deserves the tools and opportunities to be heard. She looks forward to bringing her collaborative spirit, dedication, and vision to the Academy—helping shape a bright and successful future for the students and families she serves.
